It has been almost one year since my EP pre-release and 40th birthday party, and four months since the official release of “Glimpse of Glory” EP. I cannot overstate how blessed I feel at the positive responses I have received. Thank you again to everyone who has streamed my music and taken the time to share their love and support with me.
One of the songs in the project is “Breathe Again”. As you read in the Song Story blog post, this is a song that stemmed from a season of anxiety. The feedback I continue to receive is that the song has a “healing anointing”. Whether that is true or not, one thing I can say with certainty is that my musical vision and prayer for the song was for evils spirits to leave when violin strings were played, like evil spirits fleeing from Saul when David played the harp.
There is something in this song that exudes a sense of calm, so much so that when I gathered the musicians to listen to the finished song, almost all of us fell asleep. Normally, that is not a good sign, but in this case, that is what we wanted. We prayed for God to move in a way that took someone from a place of anxiety to a place of deep calm and peace.
A few months ago, I had a stirring in my heart to add a visual element to the song. I envisioned AnnJillian Valcarcel, who plays violin on the track, a dancer or two, in a well-lit, calm, presence-filled place doing art. Dancing. Playing. Worshiping.
Luz Art, which is an arts ministry in Dallas, showcasing sacred conversations from the Torah and Bible, came to mind. I visited the art gallery last year and it was a beautiful experience. Anytime Jesus is proclaimed in a space, whether it is through words, actions, or art, it shifts the atmosphere. As soon as I walked into the gallery, I sensed the tangible presence of God, and it was exactly where I felt this video would be best captured.
I reached out to the founder, and she graciously opened the doors of the gallery so I could breathe something visual into “Breathe Again”. I also enlisted the help of Jose Rios with Mirrorless Memory to capture the video.
I am ready to share it with you and invite you to celebrate my 41st birthday with me, this time from the comfort of your home. I also invite you to subscribe to my YouTube channel so you are the first to know when other projects go live. Enjoy!
